Looking for a switch for my LEDs...

Just received my small LED panels from EBAY and will be installing them on some dark pantry cabinets on the TT. I'm thinking about using some sort of switch that would turn on the lights when the cabinet door is opened. Anybody got some suggestions for such a switch?

  • Okay Ron, I have a copy of a catalog that many parts suppliers use, mine are from Simi RV and Benchmark. There are two switches for turning on lights when you open cabinets or open a ceiling vent on page 349. There is also a light fixture for wardrobe closets with a festoon light, adapters are available for most LED panels.

Need info more I'll send a copy of the page.

There must be thousands of appropriate switches available but these are RV specific.
  • Ron,

Look for an alarm supply or almost any electronic supply place. There are available magnetic reed switches that have SPDT contacts. Like this one. Yes, it isn't cheap, but adjustment is very non-critical, the life is very good and they sustanially vibration proof.
