Ok so normally we take our crossroads cruiser to full hook up sites. Water pump doesn't get much use. Sometimes we head to local state park for couple nights and make due. For example we don't shower if someone's sleeping. No big deal. However we are considering a thanksgiving trip to nearby state park over thanksgiving. All spigots will be off but one and I can come up with transporting water with a drum and pump. Lol half done in my mind. I have a blue sewer dolly so that's good. The only issue is .... 5 days with stupid pump lol. I don't know the brand. I'll probably remove panel and look sometime today.

Water pump noise is usually causesd by the hard lines resting against a wall or some other hard surface. If you can figure out where it's doing this and put a piece pf pipe insulation around the pipe it will make a world of difference.They also make "quiet kits'" that add a length of flexible line to the input and output of the pump. I've never needed one of those though. just stopping the pipe from rattling against things has worked for me.

Many times the pump is mounted on a surface that acts like a sound board. Some insulator bushings often help. The 2 hoses hooked to the pump could be transmitting the sound. Some flexible hoses may be in order. In my case, the pex plumbing under the tub was vibrating on the floor structure. I don't care for eliminating all the pump noise. I want to know when it's running, in case of a leak.Richard

It made only a little difference and, in retrospect, padding the hoses is what needs to be done. That pex is pretty hard stuff and will rattle up a storm if it gets next to or up against something.Rob

Previous trailer, I did all I could to quiet down the pump. I put foam rubber under the pump and then screwed it down, but not tight, so it kind of floated. It helps a lot. Still make sound though. Current trailer? OK, it makes noise, but who cares! It's part of the camper, and everyone in the camper knows it's a necessary noise, so they just have to live with it. Problem solved. Who cares! I'm not busting grapes again to quiet it down. And? even with full hook-up sites, we always use our fresh water tank and on-board pump. I fill the tank from the available water source and turn off the source. Why? There is never any concern about over-pressurizing the camper's water pipes. When connected to "city water" you just never really know what the pressure is. So, to be safe, we just use the on-board pump, even at home in the drive way, where I know what my water pressure is. Noisy pump? I'd tell everyone to just live with it or they can just go to a motel! Problem solved!

My Pump was noisy somewhat due to a water line banging on a cabinet near the water heater. I still wanted to do better so I did the following:
1. glued a piece of wood to a nearly matching size piece of ergo foam
2. glued it down to the floor and mounted the pump to it. So it is completely isolated from the floor.
3. then I connected the pump to the to the water system with a flex line so it doesn't transmit pump noise thru the water system.

4. I also put an accumulator tank to take away surges

My Winny 25RKS's pump sounded like a ravenous wolverine caught in a trap. Mounted directly to the plywood floor under the sink, like a sounding board, it was way too loud for my liking.
Taking a 2' X 2' square of 1/2" foam rubber flooring, cutting it down to fit, I unscrewed the pump and connecting hoses, that were also screwed to the floor, secured both to the flooring mat with plastic zip ties. Because the mat contacts 2 sides of the area, it's not going to go anywhere. Now, I hear only a pleasant "hum". It took me about an hour, only because of the accessibility was limited.

Even a very small accumulator makes a big difference in the noise level. Ours is roughly a quart size, I think, but it did the job. Installation was easy.

I added a small surge tank with flexible tubing between my pump and faucets, which solved a lot of my noise problems and also cut down on the number of times the pump actually kicked in. Before the surge tank, it kicked in every time I opened any faucet, now the surge tank absorbs some of that.

I found that putting the inexpensive foam pipe insulation on the pipes near the pump made a huge difference... they were leaning against the wall, and the vibration was loud.

X2 on adding an accumulator. I recommend a 2 gal blue boiler expansion tank available at Lowe's. Provided there is room to install it.

The pump in our brand new TT sounded like a small motor boat from day 1. Thought it was normal until I re-primed the self priming pump. Ran nice and quiet. For a while. Got tired of re-priming before each use (I mean every time we opened a faucet)

Got a new pump and added an accumulator tank. Runs so quiet we can barely hear it.

Dopeslapped myself for not replacing it sooner.

EDIT - we ordered the exact same pump as linked above

Replacement Pump

This is me saying for the public record that my husband was RIGHT and I was WRONG to wait so long to replace the original water pump on our motorhome. I kept saying that it would be a waste of money because the new one would make just as much noise as the original. DH installed the one in the above link yesterday and it is so quiet I have to strain to hear it from inside the coach.

Our pump really hammers when there is air embedded in the intake line which always happens after we run the tank dry. We proceed to fill the tank then the noise starts until we eventually suck all the air out of the inlet lines.
