Making bed

Hello all. New camper with silly question.
We replaced our foam short queen with a regular quality queen mattress. Does anyone have any tips for applying the fitted sheets at the "tight squeeze" area at the head? It's a real struggle.
Perhaps a board to slide under & lift that area? Thanks for any ideas.

That's about the best way to do it IMO.

    Kcneeds,
'Ol boy from Marlin Texas here; I never found an easy way to do that! We just push them down and around the best we can.
  • Dang !! Dang !!!! that's a thought as long as they stay on over each other !!!!

but my wife will never go for it - I can hear it now!

  • I know someone that puts 3 fitted sheets on at once, pulling one off at a time as needed.

  • I have the same problem in my 5er the previous owner changed the mattress with regular queen, I have to pull the mattress off the wood base to get to the head of the bed then slide it back into position.

  • I have two suggestions.

    1. Put fitted sheets on diagonally... picture an "X" on the bed. Start at the hardest corner (pull the mattress down so you have room for your hands to get around and under the corner... lie on top of the mattress if that makes it easier.) Now follow the "X" and do the OPPOSITE corner. Then do the next hardest corner (that would be the 3rd corner ) and then do the remaining corner.

    2. If your fitted corners are constantly slipping... you might try elastic snaps. Get them at Sears. They are like mini suspenders with clamps at both ends. Just clamp them on your fitted sheet before you put the fitted sheet on the corners.

X2 ours actually slides quite easily.

  • I think gadgets will make it harder. I just crawl up on the bed and tuck in the fitted sheet.
I suppose this is why many use a sleeping bag. We prefer sheets.
