Mean Well from where?

Looking to get one maybe two heavy hitting Mean Well for a science project. Wondering where similar minds have purchased?

Looking for 48v @ 1000 watts or that ball park, preferably dual voltage or just 220 in.

Not sure on the model yet.

Maybe SDR-960-48 (220 only)
Maybe SE-1000-48 don't really need din rail like above

Also has anyone measured actual current versus the rating label?

The SE-1000 for example has a rated input of 10a @ 220v ... Is their power factor really so terrible that it cost 2200 watts ac to produce 1000 watts DC?

  • Don't know where to buy one, but it has a selectable input (110/220) so it's not power factor corrected. The 10 amp spec would be based on low line input (180 vac). With no PFC it's power factor should be .5 to .6.
