I would make a fold up shade/blind. Go to fabric store and get an already quilted fabric (or make using a fabric you like and perhaps a blanket if you want for insulation). Tack it to top of narrow board.. approx 1 1/2 inches wide. and use angle bracket to attach to wall. check pinterest or you tube for detailed instructions. They will also show you how to make fabric to hold it folded up. I have them in my kitchen at home on my glass doors, easy to fold up when using the door, but close for visibility and light control when needed.
