My residential refrigerator conversion

It all started with the need for two new 6 volt batteries. I wanted to get rid of my norcold 1200 because it never got cold enough for us. So long story short. I added 2 more 6 volts total of four house batteries. Ran a dedicated inverter line and kept the old 1000 watt Tripp lite inverter which has no problem running the little 10.7 whirlpool.
Bought a pantry and made the pantry front out of a piece of routed popular. Very happy now.

  • I am going with this one Insignia because it comes in black, it is bigger than the 1210 and it only requires 1.4 amps. Even though the Insignia says it is 9.9 CF, it is actually 14 CF (9.9 on refer and 3.1) in the freezer. For the time being I will just put it in the TH Garage Until I decide what to do with my Norcold 1210. I really want to replace it with a french door refer but am unable to find one with the right dimensions. Depth is the issue as mine is in a slide.
