Any type of blade system is going to be too much weight to do anything but attach at home and leave it attached. A snowblower will clear a lot of snow and the bigger ones do it fast. You will need ramps to move it in and out of the bed.
Just judging from your statements, bring chains, a shovel, a road side assistance card, and plenty of edibles. In the mountains, you may get trapped for days before someone can get you out.
BTW, if you're new to traveling in snow country, don't overestimate the capabilities of your vehicle. It is easy to get in a bad spot where a lot of work is required to extricate. Heck, we just had the first appreciable snow fall in this area and there were 100 fender benders and three arterial highways closed in the first few hours. All of that was on excellent paved roadways.
