FWIW, in my youth, I drove up Mt. Evans in CO until I hit the locked gate to the Summit, I figured a little 2000 ft climb wasn't going to get in my way so I free climbed to the top. On the way down I saw an orange truck with horn a honkin'. I ran down the last few feet and the driver told me to get in and move it. Seems like that place gets sudden storms and the last car trapped at the gate was there for four days. On day three, the driver left his passenger curled in the floor mats and hiked down for help. One can get in peril easily if one doesn't know the lay of the land.
