I think your plan involves a lot of risk. If anything goes wrong after a big snow dump you are stuck in a place with no chance of rescue.

A friend of mine once skied around Crater Lake NP. On about the 6th day they got over 3 feet of wet snow. They could barely move and used up their food supply. They were very fortunate to find a place with cell reception and came out in a helicopter.
