Yup, popup, and probably heavily modified. I have an older Cox popup that has a two piece door. The bottom of the door is sided like the rest of the body. The top frame portion of the door is zippered into the canvas. The operating part of the upper door has a clip or two that ride onto the lower door portion. The clips allow the upper and lower door parts to operate like one. The upper part has a screen and two operating glass sashes. The upper section is removed for transportation.
Since you have no plans to enter the rig in the Better Trailers and Gardens Contest, I would build onto the lower section and call it a day.
