Inside the RV I have a night light in the bathroom and the door has a 1 inch gap at the bottom so the night light floods the floor and there is no need for any other light.
I have one of these battery operated motion sensor lights on the outside of our entrance door. It lights up when someone is about 10 feet away and stays lit for about 30 seconds unless there is more motion. It gives a nice white light that lights up the stepsl and a small area around the steps. It is adjustable so you can aim the light where you want it. Very nice for the price.
