Non-adjustable thermostat fridges have been around for several years for both Dometic & Norcold. Factory pre-set with sensing from thermister.
Moving thermister would cause 6-8*f overall change in temp in food section.
Snip-The-Tip Kit (Dometic) has been available for quite some time prior to the one for Norcold
Both are an adjustable rheostat that uses the OEM wiring to lower circuit board.
IF wiring/connections are good then replacing tip works.
Pre-set thermostat should cool freezer to 0*F and food section to 38*F.
Thermister when properly placed on fin should not need further adjustments.
Rheostat control or sliding clip on fin accomplish same minor adjustment of temp
