Oxygenics shower upgrade

Hi all, I need some help installing my Oxygenics shower head.

I have this a shut off valve like this"

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JFNPJE/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And this shower wand"

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005G4EO66/ref=oh_details_o04_s02_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

(Sorry, don't know how to make links) The shower wand will attach directly to my faucet, or will attach with it's adapter. The valve appears to be pipe thread? I was hoping I could screw the valve to the faucet and the new shower to the valve, doesn't appear so. Can some of you that have installed an Oxygenics shower offer me advice??

Thanks!
  • I installed a shutoff at the showerhead.
The wall mounted holder was too low for my 6 ft frame and the fitting added a couple of inches in height thus making it far easier to shower without having to stoop to rinse the head.

I've read that Oxygenics now makes a model with a shut off valve.
  • THANKS GUYS,

Insatlled the valve on the faucet on the faucet as pictured above (except up). Seems like it might seal OK, may need to be tighter, but did not know if I could get another turn. Of course now I can't test it as I am waiting for the water to drain from a tank flush (just unwinterized, not getting out enough this year!).

Plus I have my pump disconnected installing an expansion tank. Have to test the shower another day. I am however on the net with my newly istalled Jefa repeater. I owe you guys a thread showing all the mods I have done recently, most learned from this forum!!!

    Thanks!

Depends on how far you push the valve. It will shut it completely off, but I usually let it drip a little to keep it from going to COLD when I turn it back to full again.

I have the push button one mounted at the water control like Iamichabod's picture above only mine points upward. It does not completely shut off the water but allows a rapid drip.

My trailer does not have a tub but only a shower so there is no faucet to contend with. Perhaps that is why it is possible to mount it there.
If you have a faucet, you might try turning it to see if it will unscrew to remove.

  • I did this and it worked very well, attached the valve to the faucet, no more slippery hands on that pesky knob on the Oxygenics I got the valve at Home Depot

  • We did the same thing nremtp143 did to theirs, sure helped make it easier to shower. Bought at Home Depot.

  • I have my valve connected between the end of the hose and the Oxygenics head. Works well, however the valve cuts off maybe 95% of the water flow. I find this valve works much easier than the twist valve on the shower head itself.
My only gripe about the shower head is that the handle is very slippery. I'm thinking about adding some sort of rubberized tape or something similar to gain better grip on handle when showering.
