Painted floor

Has anyone painted the floor of their RV? I read, on another website, where someone painted the floor with an epoxy type of paint. If anyone has done this, I would love to hear about your results.

    Painting wood.. Yuck.

There is no hardwood floors under RV carpet or vinyl floors, nothing but ugly plywood, MDF or strand board.

Painting plywood, MDF or strand board.. Double yuck.

If carpeted you will have ten zillion staples to pull out :M .

If vinyl flooring you WILL be on your hands and knees with a water spritzer and a putty knife FOR DAYS :S trying to get all the adhesive scraped up off the wood.. Then you will need to sand, sand and sand the floor even more to level and remove all the damage the putty knife did..

Only then you will be able to put a primer coat on..

As a wear surface, I wouldn't consider paint on a floor, no matter how good the prep is it wears away in high traffic areas then has to be painted again.. Even Epoxy paints do not hold up all that well.

Vinyl flooring is my first choice and is the most reasonable choice cost and time wise..
  • I could see where you could do an epoxy floor like you see in garages.
