Lwiddis, when you drill into any surface you can feel the screw biting into it or not. My screws should be biting into the plywood. There has to be something under the thin rubber roofing. Even if the plywood was damaged and a screw stripped, it still wouldn't just pull right out. Installing the panels should have been one of the easiest parts of the install.
