- filrupmarkExplorerWe put one on our Durango 285rlx2 . Worked great. Also used for one of those rear carriers to haul bicycles, firewood, coolers it was nice. I need to Build one for our new trailer.
- jasultExplorerI took off the cheap make believe bumper and made this with 3 hitch receiver's
- okiejoeExplorerYou need to check what the total length of combined vehicles for Private vehicles, Too many people read the restrictions for length limits on commercial vehicles and think it pertains to their RV, it doesn't. Where I live legal length is 75 feet but that's for commercial trucks, the legal length limit for private vehicles in my state is 65 feet. I had the restrictions read to me by a state trooper right out of his vehicle code book. He told me people see commercial trucks pulling long loads and think the same laws apply to them but they don't. Ask a Trooper to check for you.
- jonrjenExplorerSometimes you just gotta love the creative minds of others. I wouldn't be too concerned some of the fore mentioned comments. My suggestion would be to check with the manufacture of the RV frame and see if it will support having a hitch attached to it.
Spend some time on a owners forum that is either directly related to the frame manufacture or trailer manufacture to see if others have installed a hitch and what issues if any have come to light.
I would highly recommend that if you do go forward with a hitch that it is a frame mounted and not a bumper mount.
Good Luck with your final decision and direction of travels. - is_it_friday_yeExplorerFind a local welding shop to have them weld the hitch to the frame. I had one done for just a bike rack but he said I could tow pretty much anything I wanted because it was strong.

Don't forget your CDL with double trailer endorsement, valid medical certificate, controlled substance and alcohol testing, and length restrictions. BTW you can also disable your reverse gear cuz you won't need it while towing.
Wow that's crazy. Glad I don't live in your crazy state. Nothing special needed in MI as long as total length doesn't exceed 75'.
Also not true. CDL==commercial, not recreational.
Calf does require special licensing for double recreational towing and some folk confuse the two. - ford_coupeExplorerthanks for all the answers very helpful, even the stupid ones. have a great day

You do no want to take a chance of something coming loose. Cost more but worth the peace of mind.
