Wife want a medicine cabinet so,,,, the factory mirror must go. It's glued on to that paneling. Anyone got any tricks? I was thinking putty knives and a heat gun.

  • Well,,, it's off! Took about an hour. I almost gave up a few times. I cut some wood wedges to keep pressure on it while I heated it with the heat gun. I tried to saw it but there was no room. It just took pressure, heat & time. It was double sided taped on. Had to get it really hot.
  • Maybe it would be better to start at the bottom and saw up. Then it would fall down instead of out and down.
  • Run duct tape over the mirror first so if it does break it will not go all over!
  • fishing line or dental floss...long piece. slip it over the top of the mirror and "saw" back and forth downward between the mirror and the wall.

Have someone help so that when it breaks loose it doesn't fall and splatter you with broken glass.
