Replacing cam locks on storage doors

I bought slam/push button locks from Teddies in Texas....they work great and were easy to swap out...I bought a matched set so the same key fits all the locks I bought....

I was thinking that the doors might be thicker. Guess I will have to go the way like the other guys and change out the lock cylinders.

On my 5th wheel the doors that have the slam latches are a thicker heavy duty door (almost twice as thick). I don't think they would work on a standard door.

locks keep honest people honest...nothing more...but at least they can't use their own key. I used the combo lock

I do have a couple of cylinders I changed out on a former trailer that might work.
While looking at newer 5th Wheels I've really enjoyed that they have improved the cargo door latches/locks with a more sturdier secure handle. In reality, they are not going to be very secure for a real thief.

I replaced the CH751 storage door locks with a "barrel" lock. There is a thread here on RV.net, link below. You might need to paste the link to work. Note that the place I ordered them from is called IHL "Industrial Lock and Hardware". YOu have to take some measurements but in the end, it is a better lock. Hope this helps.
