The rooftop AC units and rooftop vent/fan units use the same 14"x14" square hole.
I swapped my roof vent for an AC unit last summer. It was a matter of peeling the original vent off, scraping off all the butyl caulk, covering up the screw holes with eternabond, and dropping the new-old AC unit in place. The reverse is certainly feasible.
Bought the AC off a scrapped popup trailer for $75. Used it over two hot weekends in August. Best $75 I spent in a long long time.
