Replacing the kitchen faucet - anyone done that?

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Our sink is in an island and it should be easy to get to. It looks like the connections are on standard centers. Since most of the faucets I've looked at have hose connections that are long so that they will reach the shut-offs so I expect I'll need to shorten the PEX tubing to meet them. Attached is a photo of the bottom of my existing faucet.
