Hello,The plastic kitchen faucet in my 2006 Forest River Rockwood 31 foot travel trailer broke a few weeks ago. So, I need to replace it.My question is: can I replace my RV kitchen faucet with a common everyday household kitchen faucet that I would use in my own kitchen at home, or does it have to be a faucet specifically designed for an RV?I've read comments others have left on other RV forums on other sites and the overwhelming majority seems to say that a regular household faucet should fit. There may be some question as far as the fittings to connect the two but I'm sure they have adaptable fittings at Home Depot or Lowe's or my neighborhood hardware store.Also, there is some question as to whether these faucets will work with the travel trailers lower water pressure. I guess it needs a specific amount of pressure to keep the spray/stream function operating correctly.So, I would prefer to use a nice solid metal faucet like I have in my own kitchen instead of the flimsy plastic or plastic resin that I see advertised on each trailer.com or big brother RV.com or some other RV site.Plus, the prices are easier if it's a regular household faucet instead of the RV faucet and the selection is greater. I'm really leaning towards the pull down, one lever faucet. So, just to repeat myself, can I use an everyday household kitchen faucet to replace my RV sink faucet?So if anyone has any advice or recommendations please help me out here. I'm pretty sure a standard faucet will drop right in. As for the lower pressure, I don't think it will be too much of a problem.

Yes you can, but you may have to add holes to the counter top. We had two failing faucets and went looking. I didn't want to make holes, but wanted to go to a high rise kitchen faucet. Ended up replacing the OEM Phoenix fittings with new ones, Phoenix, from Amazon. The sink faucet was higher than many residential ones. Easy swap, fittings connected with only hand effort.

Kitchen goose-neck broke while traveling. Bought another at Home Depot. No extra holes, fit right in, no problems. Looks different but who cares?

If the "centers" are a mtching measurement, it shouldn't be a problem. Our OEM kitchen faucet wasn't plastic, but an import I couldn't find parts for. I replaced it with a life-time warranty Price Pfister single handle faucet, that I bought at Lowes. Our bath faucets are Price Pfister from when the RV was new, had one go bad. It was replaced by Price Pfister no charge with without any shipping and handling by giving the model number on the cold water inlet line.

I will make it easy. There is no difference save possibly quality and one other.

When I replaced mine (Standard home type from Lowes) there were some difference in design and operation (Same as any change of brand) This means the operation took just a bit of getting used to (Both are single handle designs with a pull out sprayer/normal head, not a separate sprayer)

The only PROBLEM was with the plumbing.. On teh original both hot and cold lines were the same length, the same length as the COLD line on the new one

On the new one the HOT lead was shorter, I had to go get a bit of hose to adapt to it,, Not a problem really.

Take the old one with you to get the proper size. I know Lowes has a ton of them and it gets confusing without having the old one along.

There is no difference in operation requirements between an "RV" Faucet and a "Home" faucet. RV faucets are plastic due to cost and weight. Doug

Been there done that!
Our 5er had a decent faucet to start with, but DW wanted a one with a built in spray head. So it was off to HD and Lowes to find what she wanted.
This is the unit we ended up with, I love it with the head set to spray you can get a great spray pattern with just over a trickle of water great for rinsing dishes when living on tanks.
Pictures of the water flow were using the on board pump.

an American Standard faucet and with a spray attachment My wife loves it that she can spray around the corners of the sink.
You know why there is a $2 faucet in your camper? They ran out of $1 ones.

I have done that without any problems. In fact, I think that is one of the better improvements to make to any RV.

Faucets normally are 8" center or 4" center. Kitchens are normally 8" and lavatory faucets are normally 4". If the replacement faucet has the same measurement, it will work fine.

Done that with my 4 5th wheels I have had....kitchen and bathroom....everything fit ok.
