Our first trip out we needed a sunshade for the awning. I took some clothes line and ran it through the hem of a white queen sized sheet, then ran both through the slot on the awning. I use a pair of coiled dog tethers to hold down the bottom, they allow the shade to move with the wind and not put pressure on the awning.
We use the stove a lot and the wall paper isn't going to handle being washed after each trip long. We use a few strips of Glad press and seal to cover the walls behind the stove. You would be surprised at how many speckles of grease are on it each time.
We use six 5 gallon drinking water jugs to double our fresh water. One of those goes into a water dispenser so that I don't have to use the pump at 5am when I am making coffee or every time we need a spot of water.
A set of interlocking floor pads around our Champion 3500/4000 will reduce the noise considerably. Maybe not to Honda 3000is levels but anything helps.
Before we had LEDs we used HF LED puck lights to save on battery usage. A washer taped under a cabinet and you can magnetize them any where.
To put our solar panels out, I use a pair of pine slats and C-clamps. Easy, quick, infinitely adjustable and cheap.
It's usually below freezing at night where we go except mid summer where it reaches the 30s. To cut down on drafts from the windows we cover them with bath towels. It makes a huge difference in how often the furnace runs.
We use a piece of plastic gutter extension for sewer hose support while dumping.
So now you know I am simple and cheap. :)
