Just got back from camping. Here are a couple more of the simple and cheap/free mods which make my Tiger life more pleasant and may apply to other types of RV's.
1. I use removable Reflectix window covers on all of the coach and cab windows. They insulate heat and cold, they keep the inside dark when dawn comes early, they help with privacy. Windshield cover is a standard accordion type from Walmart. Cab side window covers were made using a pattern (tape newspaper over window, use a marking pen to draw around window onto newspaper, cut out shape, lay shape on Reflectix, cut around it); covers just press into window to install. Some coach covers are just rectangles; they fit between window and pleated shade which holds them in place. Coach door window was a problem; I just hang a bath towel over it at night. These covers have last through hundreds of nights of camping. Cost: about $25 for a roll of Reflectix at Lowe's (years ago, probably more $ now)
2. Gizmo meant to hold coach door open is useless in prevailing breeze at my house where the Tiger parks. I made a loop out of mason's cord. One end of loop goes over cab door handle and other end over coach door handle. Holds door open well, removes in a second, and takes about zero storage space. Cost: about zero for a few feet of cord.
