I had been planning to add an LED pilot lamp to the water heater switch for quite some time - an easy enough and low cost mod. While sitting and thinking in the camper one evening I hit upon an even easier solution. With the switch in the on position, simply mark the raised edge of the switch with a silver sharpie (on hand at the time) or by some similar method. As it happens, that side of the switch faces the back door of my camper and the silver surface makes enough of a visual flash that I know what is going on at a glance from outside the door.
