I tried to find old fashion floor wax (for vinyl floors like Mom used many years ago) to coat it and stop the chalking but no such luck. Other than getting on hands and knees and using paste wax which will take much time and effort are there any other suggestions? I just want to apply with a mop and go, not mop and glow.
Skip the wax, the paint on rubber stuff like Kool seal and such.
The REAL fix is to have the roof painted with AUTOMOTIVE PAINT. Modern day re-finishers paints are actually a Urethane/epoxy paint which will outlast the life of most RVs.
My favorite automotive paint is PPGs DCC paints which is color plus top coat all in one paint. No need for clear coat required with this paint and best off all no waxing needed for many, many years. I have a car painted 15+ years ago and if it wasn't for the rust through in places would still look like the day it was last painted and it was never waxed.
It isn't cheap, 6 yrs ago the DCC paints was going for $250/gal and you will have body shop along with paint shop labor but keep in mind unlike those paint on rubber solutions you will not need to reapply every couple of years. Done once RIGHT and be done with the rest of the RVs life.
