Since presumably the brackets do not have camfered/countersunk holes, but rather straight ones, I'd want screws with a flat bottom to the head (pan head screws) rather than ones with a conical mating surface.
Ordinary wood screws may have enough unthreaded shank that little if any of the threads will actually engage the roof decking, which is often not particularly thick on RVs.
