Shower plastic roof crack fix?

While cleaning my roof today I noticed the beginning of a crack in the plexiglass roof dome. It doesn't go completely through yet and I'm wondering if someone has an easy fix I.e. run a bead of caulk (type?) or a small strip of Eternabond ???

Any ideas?

  • I had a crack in a skylight on our Southwind. I stop drilled the crack and applied a small strip of Eternabond. It repaired the leak and, it cnn't be seen from the ground. It has been a couple years and no problems.
  • Do you mean the skylight over the shower? If so, I used contact cement to fix a crack on mine and it worked surprisingly well. Replacements aren't that expensive (maybe $120 I think for mine) but you have to remove the old one and install the new one and make sure it's leak free so not a trivial job.
  • Thx. I usually have a good handle on products but have never heard of this. West Marine is on my next trip to town.
  • ~ a couple of links for you to review.
    Comes highly recommended.
I have ordered some as a preventative measure (for the WTH?) kit.
