We have one of the 2.7 CF dorm type. It resides in one of the basement compartments. It doesn't run while in transit. I put a couple of 1.25 bottles of water (frozen of course) in the freezer compartment to help keep it cold while we are travelling. We rarely travel more than 5 hours in a day. So far, it has always kept the contents cold.
