When I have a need for my dorm fridge, I plug it in the day before inside our camper the same time I turn on the RV fridge. I also put 6-pack of sodas in it. The day we are ready to pull out I put a gallon jug of ice in the dorm fridge along with anything I can't fit in the RV fridge. When we get to the campground everything is nice and cold and the fridge starts back when the camper is plugged in.
