Sofa is getting soft

We have had the same problem and have replaced recliners many times. The problem is that my husband is a big guy and he sits in the same chair all the time. Because of his weight the cushions break down over time. This has been true with Lazy Boy and other quality manufactures. We currently have a reclining love seat that we paid almost $2K for and his side is sinking badly after less than a year of daily use.

It's frustrating because my chairs never have that problem but that's the price we have to pay when we are larger than the average customer that the product was manufactured for.

A rv sofa is not comfortable as a sofa or a bed. I replace with a leather love seat.

I just replaced our couch with a double recliner loveseat. 60 " wide / the backs were off and it just fit in the doorway. The couch was only 4.5 years old but the seats felt like we were sitting on the springs. Paid $500 for the Loveseat

We just completed a jackknife sofa replacement ourselves. It had gotten so uncomfortable and mashed down. You could feel every spring and bar.

You can get normal furniture through a 24" wide door. The loveseat that we bought had the backs that came off. And each side could be unbolted from the bottom frame allowing us to take half of it in at a time.

Good advice! A lot of sofas are three pieces that are bolted on two pieces of angle iron. One in the front and one in the back. They just unbolt and come apart. I took two sofas and made one love seat and one super long sofa. I put the super long sofa in the RV (one piece at a time) and sold the love seat. The stuff that comes in RV's sucks. I love my "super long" sofa!

PS: I bolted it to the RV's frame and reused the seat belts.

X2, my Best brand theater love seat that's in the 5er has removable backs. I was told by several furniture guys that most recliner chairs have removable backs. It helps with transporting. They pack easier.

Sorry to hear about your couch -- I will keep an eye on mine, but sofa, so good.
