Solar advice needed!

I am wanting to run solar on my TT to help us boondock more often and longer. We currently use a generator to charge our 2 12 volt batteries but would like an alternative with solar. I want enough solar to run items like TV, lights, Fridge fan while on propane. fans and water pump. Would like enough sustained power to do these items as well as into the evening. From an economical standpoint what items would I need to purchase to meet the needs I described. I would like to get a complete breakdown of all the items needed to accomplish this. Thanks
  • If you need basic information, start by googling "the 12 volt side of life".

You want about 100 watts of solar for every average sized RV battery. If that is not enough to meet your need, then you will need to add batteries as well as additional solar power.

The 12 volt side of life pages will give you information on expected electrical consumption and will help you size your system. LED lights, water pump and fans typically use minimal power. The big draws are the furnace and TV. A TV can pull 10 amps and drain half of your available battery power in one evening.
