Solar panel mounting on rubber roof

Would like to mount solar panels on my 08 NuWa 36 FW but just can't bring myself to punch holes in the rubber roof. Anyboby have a idea? Brackets bolted to the gutter or side of trailer maybe? Thanks Bruce
  • Butyl tape and Self leveling Dicor have a great reputation by the DIY crowd on here along with the RV service industry. They are the go to products for sealing holes, preventing leaks. Your likely to create bigger problems trying to mount to your gutters or side walls than you are mounting with your L brackets right to the roof. That's how the professionals do it. Why would you try something different? Deep Breath and go do a nice job as Mike-uswest describes.
  • Nothing to fear but fear itself. Now get your drill and start making holes.
  • Butyl tape under mount and screws, with Dicor over top real well, and you are good to go.

  • 3m double sided tape, research it, it's not tape the way you know it...
  • Hi,

There are already dozens of holes in the roof. With the proper sealant (dicor) it will be find to make a few more.
  • I'll be the first to say holes in the roof is no biggie. Punched 48 of them for my panels. With proper sealant you're fine.
