Thanks but it won't work either. I have a deck built on the back using one of the 2" receiver hitches on the bumper and two more 2" receivers bolted onto the frame. All this becomes the base for a platform thats almost as wide as the back bumper and I don't want to add the additional weight of a spare tire back there.
I've seen some FWH/TH's with the cable spare tire carrier that were stock with the hole for the extension rod in the side for attaching the crank. After looking at the ones Lippert makes from an earlier post here, that looks like my best option.
But I'm still interested in other ideas because it looks like I need to get a cross beam installed to mount it. But, that'll help support the chloroplast too.
Just in case you didn't realize it but that mount is designed for use on the A frame up by your hitch.
