Seriously, I had considered an idea like that too but want to move some weight aft when possible. I replaced the single 12v battery with 4 - 6v GC batteries, an angle iron frame to help support them and a heavy TrippLite inverter, so I'm hoping to move the spare back to where its just in front of the leading axle. After I get a few more of these things done, I'm getting a weigh-in to make sure my "ideas" haven't created any big problems.
