spare tire mount and extra storage

Just finished this. Before anyone reminds me of not relying on the trailer bumper I didn't. I welded 2 X 4 tubing between the frame rails and used that as the main support. The aluminum box and it's mount slide in to a hitch receiver so I'll only use it when on a long trip. Yes those are back-up lights mounted in the middle. No they don't overload the system. I've had the identical lights on my car trailer for 4 years without any problems

  • Box is 18 1/2" from the ground. We'll see if it presents a problem

Looks nice although it looks a little close to the ground.
  • Haven't hauled with it on yet. Just finished it this afternoon. The tire mount was the main necessity. I had the box and carrier already as I'd made that for our pick-up camper which was sold this spring. So I added the receiver which could also be used for a bike rack
