The tank is abs plastic. The plasti-mend will work great from the reviews I am reading. I'll try that out and see.
However I would be tempted to just make a disk and silicone/screw to the tank side similar to the way the tornado is mounted. You can go plastimend later if it leaks.
x2. dip screws in silicone too before installing the plate over the hole. For another added means of ensuring no leak, cover the patch with eternabond tape
