Tom - It is a great idea finding an out of the way spot for the coffee maker...
I would use one of those Cuisinart GRIND AND BREW type coffee makers however. These only need 120VAC power usually for less than 5-minutes and pours up into a thermos carafe. Then it completely shuts down and the thermos keeps the coffee hot for many hours... This really works great when you are in conserse power mode camping off the power grid...
we are fresh ground coffee bean lovers and if we use the same brand bottled water we can duplicate the taste we love just about everywhere we brew up a pot... Even works in Gober TX...
