Tile Backsplash

Haven't done it in a MH yet but, from my construction days, what you want is "mastic" and the grout with latex additive. The latex additive makes it less likely to pop. Both are available in the tile materials at your favorite big box hardware store.

PS: Don't forget the notched trowel.

I remember seeing here at DIY that somebody had done the glass tile. (hope they post or you find it in the search) I wanted to do it in our 5ver but DH said I was just adding more weight,,,what do I want to throw out in exchange? Well nothing at this point so will find DH another project :)

Thanks, I did the back splash in my house and used the mastic but I am not sure about the grout. I will make SURE I GET THE ONE WITH AN ADDITIVE.

Google, "Sanded Ceramic Tile Caulk" good to use when movement will occur all the flexibility you need.

I will be adding a clear acrylic backsplash all around our stove to protect the walls from splatters and grease. Thought about the glass tile also but didn't want the weight or to change the wallpaper / border look.

I did my dads In one of his motorhomes he had.I used a antifracture membrane on the wall first.
Then used superflex mortar and did 1/4 grout joints with expoxy grout
Never had a issue

When trailer was new we just put up clear plexiglass panels around the stove and sink to keep grease and water off the walls. Just wipe them down with a rag and cleaner from time to time.

We used a 'peel and stick' vinyl product simulating glass tiles. Available at any box store Lowes, Home Depot etc. they are about a 9"x9" sheet with interlocking patterns so that seams are invisible after installation.
Advantages: lightweight, easy to clean, no cracking, easy to install (no mastic grout etc)
Disadvantages: not real tiles, you have to look closely to see the difference.

Try looking up "Smart Tiles". I just put them in our Bighorn. Quick,easy and look good.
