It IS nice, however, to be able to put an air gauge on it.
I have the standard sensors and have 4 on my 5'er and 4 on my TV. When I get to a site for an extended period of time I remove the 5'er sensors to preserve the battery life and put them back on when ready to move. The sensors on my truck I never remove. I verified the accuracy of the sensors with a tire gauge initially and as long as the remote in on my dash doesn't change, I never check them again except at battery change time. I do check the pressure in the 5'er tires when getting ready to move, but unless the sensors are removed for some other reason I don't check the pressure with an air gauge.
