I bought a TT with some pretty good amounts of water damage to the floor, well I added plenty of bracing, cut out the bad spots, laid new OSB in there and finally decided on the flooring. I wanted something fairly easy to clean, easy to install, fairly inexpensive. I stopped at Home Depot to see what they had, and found this! Foam rubber interlocking squares. It may not be conventional, or the prettiest, but I have 2 dogs that are hard on everything, carpet was out, didn't feel the whole linoleum thing, the best part is that if a square gets ruined, I can pop it out and replace it with a brand spanking new one in 30 seconds. It's not glued down or anything, just trimmed fairly tight to the edges. It's flat now.

Go ahead and buy a few extra packs. I've seen that stuff come and go with different designs over time.

Nice, quiet and warmer as well.....

Won't the joints fill with dirt? Can you even sweep it ? I'm sure it feels great(especially barefoot) but in my boat its hard to clean.Good Luck, Mike

1. Click on "My Forums" link at the top right of the page under your name.

2. Click on "My Preferences" in the light blue band near the top.

3. Scroll down and make sure the box next to "Show images that are part of posts ( not recommended for dial-up users )" is checked.

4. Check the rest of the stuff on that page to make sure it is what you want.

5. Click on "Submit Changes" button at very bottom of the page.

Your logged into rv.net. Go to upper right hand corner and log out, then go back to topic page and re-enter unconventional flooring... then you'll see the pictures.

The cleaning isn't a problem, I keep a small shop vac in the trailer, that'll clean out the cracks. And yeah I can just peel individual squares out if they get muddy and just hose them off. Thanks everyone, I really like it too, it's soft like carpet, and helps to insulate the trailer!

I like it too ! As far as cleaning goes, worse case you can take them out and clean them and the floor then reinstall. Try that with carpet !

We did the same thing in our old '88 Champion. But we used a strip of duct tape UNDERNEATH between the joints to hold them in place.

So as we laid them down, we put a piece of duct tape FACING UP and anchored the pieces together as we went.

Maybe that was overkill. They never came apart and I used a vacuum on them just like a regular floor.

Just vacuum the cracks and floor once in awhile and it won't build up in the cracks. Seems that would make it warmer in the cold. Maybe that's an option for when we rip out carpet.
