vinyl wood planks or engineered hardwood

I used the pergo style floor from Costco. I really like it after 1.5 yrs. Have seen the allure curl up on edges in a trailer that was used full time.

To the OP, you probably know Allure makes 2 different types; the type with the sticky edges and the "snap and lock" style. It seems from what I've read here the sticky edge type is the one that can separate in extreme temps. I have not heard of any problems here with the snap and lock type. As I mentioned above, Forest River uses the Beau Flor product which I have in my new trailer. Seems to be OK but I have not had it long.

We put Allure in our kitchen and laundry room at our house. It looks great and has been extremely durable. However, we have has some separation in a few of the seams.

Our fifth wheel came with Beau Flor also.
So far bullet proof so to speak.

I am kind of amazed at home many different products and opinions are out there. I wish there was just one manufacturer that said "this works great in RVs" but wishful thinking, I guess! I was ready to go with Allure until Ernie Ekberg in Texas, a known flooring installer, said he's heard too many bad things about it... he recommends Mannington's Adura luxury vinyl, and never floats, always glues. Brannon Hutcheson with Tiffin and owner of Custom RV Inc in Alabama says he has installed 10+ RVs with Allure and has had no problems at all. He also likes Nafco's luxury vinyl tiles, which are stick down and "groutless". So I called our local (Memphis) flooring supplier to ask about Nafco in stock and he said, "never use anywhere but in a regulated environment, between 55-85 degrees". My head is spinning because we do NOT want to have to re-do the whole floor a few years down the road, and there are so many conflicting opinions/experiences out there. I will be sure to let you all know what we go with, and after the installation is done in late August I will post pictures and hopefully remember to give periodic updates to how the floor is holding up.

We put in Allure Ultra, self floating, very easy to install and is water resistant. We love it and it looks great and that is according to the DW.....

Beau Flor

It's a vinyl product that looks like wood, similar to Alure I guess. It's supposed to handle thermal change very well according to the brochure. Forest River chose that product for a reason it seems.

I have engineering wood and I don't have any problems.A lot better than Alure.

We are from the desert West but still have and travel thru humid areas - in fact we are in Memphis right now. I have had 2 rigs with Allure sticky edge and would never do it again. It's hard to fully float the floor and mine separated after a year or so. My next floor in the current rig will be glued down engineered bamboo - I know others have been happy with their click together vinyl but this time I want to do (have done) a really nice, hard wearing and long lasting floor.
