is there any way to order those without Pay Pal, I refuse to use them unless I go to the trouble of getting a separate prepaid credit card with limited funds on it.

For online purchases I am unsure of the vendor, I can setup a temporary (or burner) credit card number for one of my existing cards. For this burner number I can specify the expiration date and the credit limit. These charges just appear on my regular card bill.
The vendor has no knowledge of the connection between the burner number and my "real" account information.. So even if they go crazy with my number, the exposure is limited and short-lived.
Keep in mind that "exposure" to fraud is generally (legally) limited to $50... And over the years, I have never had a credit card NOT reverse the entire fraudulent charge when it was reported. Maybe 2 fraudulent incidents in the last 20-25 years??
The burner number is a great idea when you're buying a service that has some renewal that is automatic - unless you remember to call and cancel it yourself. Which I am sure I would forget to do.
