This is actually a pretty good idea. I thought about using foamboard, but it does degrade with UV exposure. I could paint the backside, to stabilize against the UV exposure. And cover the front and maybe the back, too, with fabric so it looks decent. It would be easily removed, or easily replaced if the foamboard does break down.
