Will the rollers on a slide make marks on wood flooring?

I want to put hardwood flooring in my RV. But I'm worried that the rolls on the slide will make marks on the wood flooring??

  • I install wood floor in my FW 2 years ago.The rollers don/t leave any marks wher they roll. The only indentation is the place where thay stay in.You can't see a dent is a indentation as you know the slide mouve a little when you drive that the problem. But is a very litlle price you pay for a very good looking wood floor.
  • I hate to tell you, but most slides have rollers that are attached to the underside of the slide out. I've owned 3 5th wheels, and now a class A. When I roll the slide out there's signs of 3 rollers in the carpet. It all depends off what thee made off. I've now got 3 rollers, and there atleast 8 inches wide.
  • Slides often don't have rollers on the bottom of them. If they have rollers at all they are mounted in the floor and the slide rolls over them. I'm sure there are exceptions to this but I've not seen one.
The black marks we see are the result of the edges of the slides rubbing against the bottom seal.
  • So far, No. I put these floors in almost two years age and thought there might be a problem, My rollers are about 6in wide and made of plastic of some kind. I check to be sure there is nothing on the floor befor moving slide to try to not leave marks.
  • They likely will, but you can prevent that by using slide slickers where the rollers are located so that they ride on the slicker when the slide comes in.
