Window Valances

I need to re-do the valances on my window. They are pleated fabric that has deteriorated. The vertical pieces are covered and look fine. I am thinking of doing the top piece to match the walnut cabinets or cover thin plywood.
Looking for ideas, anyone done window treatments they would like to share?

  • (This is a little off topic and then again spot on and I know your talking about valances).
Be careful in the kitchen or any flame.
  • Changing the window treatments is quite simple. The material is just stapled and/or glued. If you remove everything add a light layer of quilt batting under the finish material.

I bet the wooden trim looks great.

My brother-in-law recovered the top of his valances and put wood with routing down the vertical sides. Looks great! don't have pics sorry.
