Installed this today:Acurite wireless unit $29.99 delivered from Amazon.Surprised it works on the dash of the truck too as the reader unclips from the wall mount easily. Has a easel stand for the dash or magnet mount.Min/Max constant readout works great. Haven't tried the alarm I just shut it off likely the old ears wouldn't hear it anyway.Senders are small and white and clip to shelves so hard to take a pic.Moderator edit to re-size picture to forum limit of 640px maximum size.

I have the same one and love it. Sure beats opening door to see inside thermometer and losing a few degrees to do it.

I agree and I have the same model and really like the continuous min/max along with current temp display w/o having to push buttons to cycle thru the various temps. I keep one sensor in the crisper section of the refer where DW has her insulin since you really don't want that subjected to freezing or really low temps.

I use an indoor/outdoor wireless thermometer I picked up for under $20 and it works all the way up in the cab of the truck, but tends not to be very accurate. It does give me a warning if the pilot blows out or I need to turn on the cooling fan.

I like the Acu-Rite, I may upgrade.

We have had one similar to this from Radio Shack in our trailer for the past 10 years. I use the Litihum batteries and they last about a year before needing replacement. The ones in the transmitter in the refridgerator are AAA size (X2)and the ones in the display unit are AA size (X2).

Lots of reviews on it, and I didn't see any comments on battery life, so it must not be that bad?

Not only receives through the fridge and freezer doors recieves in the truck cab on the road so you can keep an eye on it.

What size and how many batteries does it take? I've got a cheap "indoor/outdoor" digital wireless unit and if I leave it 'on' 24/7 the 2 AAA batteries are dead in about 2 weeks.. I tried it in my fridge, but the remote unit does not send a signal thru the fridge door..

I like that unit you've got, but I hope it does not cost a fortune in batteries! ;)
