? Side-by-Side ATV Recommendations/Opinions

Looking for recommendations, comments, opinions, etc, about side-by-side ATVs.

DW can't drive her sit-over-the-saddle ATV anymore thanks to hip injury & surgery. Looking for side-by-side that will accomodate 4 people, us two and a couple of the Gkids.

(Edit) Should've added that it must be shorter than 12'. Fuzion garage is 12' 1/8" from closed ramp to sliding glass door.

  • I, too, have been looking. My thought is Honda has been successful for years, so I am leaning that direction.

what kind of riding are you going to be doing mostly?
  • Here is a UTV buyer's guide site to look at different manufacturer's models. Click on each one to see the model lineups for each. Lot of good look toys, for mighty fancy prices, but I don't know much about any of them.
  • Until recently, the best we found were the Polaris RZR. We went with a 2-seat RZR800EPS as it will run on 50" trails. We were thinking that when we go to a 4-seat, a RZR4 900 or Ranger would be our choice.

Honda, however, now has the Pioneer 1000-5. They are having a few issues with the transmission that should be worked out fairly quickly. If they do, that may well be our next one.
  • I don't own one, but by reputation I'd recommend can-am. I have a friend with a Maverick and he loves it. He should for what he paid for it, though.
  • I have a Kawasaki Teryx. I believe it is a nice combination of sporty plus practical. I have a 2 seater but them make a 4.
