With a 5.5 foot bed you will definitely need a slider and even then many 5'ers won't allow you to fully turn before hitting the cab.
Weight wise... take a look at the sticker on the B-pillar and it'll tell you the available payload... be sure and subtract the weight of the 5th wheel hitch (approx. 150lbs) and the wife, pets, cargo... then look for a trailer that will have a pin weight that is under what's left... For estimated pin weight use 20% of the GVWR of the trailer in question.
