13'5 5th wheel vs 13'6 bridges?
I'm looking at a new Grand Design or Montana Mid-Bunk 5th wheel. Both are listed at 13'5 height. Several places I go have 13'6 bridges. How do they determine the height? Anybody been under 13'6 bridge...

Think about your statement that height restrictions only apply to commercial vehicles only applies to commercial vehicles. That doesn't make sense. And, moreso, it is not true.
That low underpass doesn't matter if you're commercial or private. If that 13'6" commercial vehicle can't make it under an underpass then neither can your 13'6" private owned vehicle.
And just to clarify - height restriction laws are not just for commercial vehicles. They apply to all vehicles. I taught vehicle and truck law for many years and enforced it for a lot more. The size limits are not commercial vehicle specific.
