I am currently running Sailun 16" S637 tires.
It is a super heavy duty tire. After reading several favorable reviews on this forum I decided to give them a try I have not been disappointed. I have yet to read a negative review from some one who actually owns them.
They are not your typical Chinese tire they are built to meet a high quality standard and Sailun has committed themselves to meet this accreditation standard.
RV .net member NC Hauler is familiar with Sailun's certification and can vouch for the validity of the standard.
The Goodyear tire has a stellar reputation. Goodyear has been known to pay for any blowout damage damage caused by the G614 tire.
A quick search had the Goodyears priced at $321.00 each vs.157.99 for the Sailuns.
That is $160.00 difference per tire or $640 for a set. I figured I already had insurance to pay for blowout damage. I did not need to pay Goodyear 160.00 more per tire just for the added protection.
Beware I believe the Sailun 16" tires are a bit larger in diameter than the Goodyears
So far I have been happy with my decision. I have had the Sailuns for 2 full seasons.
As of now the ONLY China made tire I would put on my 5er would be the Sailun S637 tire due to their ISO certifications of TS16969 and ISO14001....My company has to meet the same standards to keep our reputation and be a competitor in the world wide market. I have the GY G614's and they have been a great tire...pricey, but GY will back you per chance you have a tire failure(if their fault)....all that aside, when I replace the one's on my 5er this year or next, I will see what prices are on the G614's and compare to the Sailun S637...these will be the only two tires I will look at in the G weight rating range...So far reports have been good...
Most issues with the GY G614 tires were with tires manufactured from 05 through possibly 07? Seems we've not heard issues on those manufactured since midway through 07', first of 08'....
As we can see, several reports on Sailun S637's and the more good reports we're getting it's proving that quality is a major factor in their manufacturing process, (this should be a given, but considering China products exported to the US...I think we all know better).
